- Ensure the project scope is well defined and agreed among all stakeholders. This includes project deliverables, project assumptions and project risks
- Manage both internal and external project stakeholders and ensure important, relevant information is communicated regularly to all stakeholders
- Act as the focal point for all project related issues. Manage project related issues with Client Project Engineers and Wood Discipline Leads
- Provide mentorship to more junior project managers/engineer
- Ensure adherence to Wood's and Client project management, change management and document management procedures and processes
- Review and approve purchase requisitions, contracts, and invoices within authority level
- Ensure the baseline cost estimate and schedule reflect the scope
- Monitoring of costs and budgets
- Monitoring of delivery status and progress, communicating delivery status and progress to appropriate stakeholders
- Monitoring and control of Wood workflow process
- Monitoring and control of change management process
- Facilitate management review, detailed design clarification meetings, constructability reviews and close out meetings
- Foster an environment of openness, trust and honesty in support of Wood's Core Values
- Ensure that Lessons Learned Reviews are conducted
- Position may require site visits
- An Engineering Degree from a recognized post-secondary institution is preferred but any equivalent combination of experience and / or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved may also be considered
- Engineers must be registered, or eligible for registration, with the Professional Engineers & Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador
- Minimum 15+ years of experience with relevant engineering and / or project management experience in the Power & Utility sector with a proven track record in delivering on schedule and budget
- Strong understanding of project management principles and objectives with a strong emphasis on project execution
- Ability to communicate at all levels of both internal and Client organization
- Work with minimal supervision and must be self - starter who takes ownership of tasks through to completion with success
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point. Knowledge of P6 considered an asset
- Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
- Good verbal and written communication
- Authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is required
