
Research Analyst - Institute for Mental Health Policy Research

- Participant interaction, including recruitment and screening, enrollment, informed consent discussions, data collection, and conducting interviews and focus groups
- Moderation of a virtual hub used to foster peer connection and community engagement, including moderating posts and discussion boards, assisting with technical issues, supporting website users, and promoting hub engagement
- Creating social media posts and videos related to smoking cessation information, stories, tips, milestones, and supports
- Assisting with English to French translation of research materials (e.g., protocols, surveys, social media content, knowledge translation products, etc.)
- Supporting stakeholder engagement, including liaising with community agencies, program decision-makers, and new and existing program implementers
- Working with open source software, such as REDCap
- Supporting the entire lifecycle of data collection, including entry, auditing, quality control, and accuracy assurance
- Conducting literature reviews and summarizing evidence into various formats (scientific papers, reports, briefs, proposals and presentations for diverse audience groups)
- Supporting research activities such as submissions to CAMH's Research Ethics Board
- Assisting with data analysis and quality assurance-related tasks
- Knowledge and understanding of research design, data collection methods, and data analysis
- Knowledge of ethical conduct of research in human participants, including GCP and TCPS2
- Creativity and strong knowledge translation skills; ability to translate complex information into a variety of engaging formats for diverse audience groups including social media
- Experience directly interacting with participants and conducting interviews and focus groups
- Experience using various social media platforms and software
- Ability to moderate a virtual hub, promote community engagement, and proactively problem-solve and evaluate technical issues
- Experience working with internal and external stakeholders, as well as people with lived and living experience with substance use is considered an asset
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team environment
- Demonstrated experience administering data collection tools using online data capture platforms such as REDCap (experience in a clinical/research environment is an asset
- Qualitative and quantitative data analysis skills
- Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail and determined attitude towards ensuring accuracy and integrity
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with diverse individuals, teams, and people with lived/living experience within the community
- Knowledge of nicotine and tobacco dependence interventions are an asset
