- Supervise base staff and support communications for pilots and Aircraft Maintenance Engineers.
- Ensure maintenance personnel and flight crew report to work on time and are fit for duty.
- Monitor staff schedules, attendance, and timekeeping, address lateness or absenteeism.
- Review and approve staff timesheets.
- Coordinate daily flight operations and aircraft availability with maintenance.
- Continually liaise with company SOCC in order to monitor flights in and out of Thunder Bay.
- Enforce company policies, safety procedures, and regulatory compliance.
- Liaise with Operations and Maintenance management on base status and issues.
- Promote safety culture and support incident reporting and follow-up.
- Act as the primary on-site contact for clients, addressing concerns or inquiries promptly to ensure high satisfaction levels.
- Coordinate accommodation and logistics for flight and ground crew, ensuring the crew house is properly maintained and adequately stocked.
- Conduct regular audits of the base, crew house, and aircraft to uphold cleanliness, safety, and operational standards.
- Participate in the initial investigation and documentation of any flight-related incidents or operational disruptions.
- Assist in reviewing and updating operational manuals and training materials to support regulatory compliance and operational consistency.
- Review and approve maintenance timesheets, ensuring accuracy for payroll processing.
- Track expenses, manage office and operational supplies, and support base budgeting
- Participate in leadership and operational meetings, providing input on base operations and staff needs.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred; post-secondary education in aviation management is an asset.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in flight operations, aviation management, or a similar supervisory role.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven experience in flight operations or base management.
- Strong understanding of Canadian Aviation Regulations.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and team coordination abilities.
- Knowledge of Transport Canada CARs and aviation safety requirements
- Ability to manage schedules, personnel, and operational priorities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and aviation management or scheduling software.
- High level of accuracy in record-keeping, documentation, and compliance monitoring.
