The base pay actually offered may vary based upon the candidate's skills and experience, job-related knowledge, geographic location, and other specific business and organizational needs.As a candidate, you are encouraged to ask compensation related questions and have an open dialogue with your recruiter who can provide you more specific details for this role.Job Description:Role OverviewThe IT Development Lead – Trade Finance & Working Capital Solutions is responsible for leading one or more delivery teams accountable for the design, build, integration, and support of technology solutions within the Trade Finance and Working Capital Solutions portfolio.This role combines delivery accountability and technical oversight, ensuring solutions are delivered securely, reliably, and in alignment with approved architectures, enterprise standards, and regulatory requirements. The Development Lead partners closely with Product, Business Systems Analysts, Solution Architects, and Operations to deliver high-quality outcomes across the full application lifecycle in a complex, regulated banking environment.Key ResponsibilitiesDelivery & Execution Accountability
  • Own end-to-end delivery execution for assigned application and integration initiatives, from design through production stabilization
  • Ensure delivery commitments for scope, quality, timelines, and risk are met
  • Act as the primary technology delivery lead for initiatives involving internal systems and third-party/vendor platforms
  • Ensure adherence to SDLC, STLC, and enterprise delivery governance standards
Team Leadership
  • Lead a team of engineers and/or analysts
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Ensure team capacity, skill coverage, and succession planning align with portfolio needs
  • Remove delivery impediments and escalate risks appropriately
Technical Oversight & Architecture Alignment
  • Ensure solutions are implemented in accordance with Solution Architecture direction and enterprise standards
  • Partner with Solution Architects to validate designs and resolve implementation trade-offs
  • Guide engineering teams on integration patterns, security controls, and non-functional requirements
  • Review key technical deliverables to ensure quality, scalability, and operational readiness
Production Accountability & Operational Excellence
  • Accountable for production stability of applications delivered by the team
  • Ensure proper support models, runbooks, monitoring, and operational documentation are in place
  • Oversee incident, problem, and defect management in partnership with operations teams
  • Drive root cause analysis, remediation, and technical debt reduction initiatives
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
  • Partner with Product, business stakeholders, and technology leaders to align priorities and delivery plans
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors and system integrators where applicable
  • Communicate delivery status, risks, and dependencies clearly to senior stakeholders
  • Support regulatory, audit, and risk activities related to owned platforms and solutions
Required QualificationsExperience & Leadership Skills
  • 10+ years of experience in application development, integration, or technology delivery roles
  • 5+ years of experience in Banking or Financial Services environments
  • Proven experience leading technology delivery teams in complex enterprise environments
  • Strong execution mindset with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills
  • Solid understanding of risk, compliance, and audit expectations in regulated environments
Technical & Delivery Competencies
  • Application & Integration Delivery: Multi-tier applications, system integrations, vendor solutions
  • Integration Technologies: REST APIs, MQ, Web Services, SFTP
  • Architecture Awareness: Distributed systems, security controls, resilience patterns
  • Cloud & Infrastructure: Azure and hybrid environments
  • Data & Formats: JSON, XML, relational database concepts
  • Delivery Models: Agile/Scrum and Waterfall
  • Tooling: Jira, Confluence, Git/Bitbucket, CI/CD awareness
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
  • Domain experience in Trade Finance & Working Capital Solutions, including:
  • o Core Trade (Letters of Credit, Standby LCs, Documentary Collections)
  • o Supply Chain Finance (Payables, Receivables, Dynamic Discounting)
  • Experience working in large bank technology organizations
  • Prior experience managing vendor-led delivery
  • Certifications such as:
  • o SAFe / Agile leadership
  • o ITIL
  • o PMP
  • o Cloud or architecture fundamentals
