Your future starts here.PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:The Sr. Manager Mechanical leads the safe, efficient, and compliant execution of mechanical operations in alignment with regulatory standards and business expectations. This role provides strong managerial leadership and supports employee development to drive performance in safety, service, productivity, and financial results. The ideal candidate fosters a proactive safety culture, communicates with clarity and consistency, and holds teams accountable to high standards.POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Ensure safe shop operations by driving the safety scorecard and confirming safety framework sessions are completed at all terminals
- Maintain strong emergency response readiness across the territory
- Provide leadership, coaching, and support to field managers in assigned shops.
- Establish, communicate, and maintain appropriate staffing levels at each terminal
- Drive performance to meet operational targets and service expectations
- Improve car repair productivity through effective capacity utilization and workflow management
- Address and resolve escalations from terminals in a timely, solutions-focused manner.
- Validate adherence to decision-making and escalation guidelines; hold managers accountable to standards
- Drive train yard performance and ensure yard service employees complete required daily train repairs
- High school diploma or general equivalency
- Valid driver's license
- Minimum 5 years of working knowledge in railway operations (road, yard, car, mechanical) in a leadership role
- Available to work all types of shifts, including nights, weekends holidays and on call
- Ability to interact efficiently and positively with governmental and stakeholders
- Ability to drill down, understand root cause and resolve complex issues
