- Responsible for the financial performance of the design portfolio, including managing budgets, revenue forecasting, WIP tracking, margin management, and preparing project cost estimates and quotes.
- Oversee the end-to-end delivery of utility design projects, review compliance with electrical distribution standards, ESA, CSA, and municipal permitting requirements (City of Toronto, HONI, Metrolinx, TRCA, ETC) and review project estimates.
- Put in place and lead multi-disciplinary design teams (designers, drafters, engineers), managing workload balancing, resourcing, project assignment and mentoring internal and external staff.
- Implement QA/QC processes and maintain risk registers, issue logs, and mitigation plans to ensure design attainments are met and projects are issued for construction as per client plans.
- Maintain relationship with major clients and lead project meetings to provide updates on status, potential design issues, and workload
- Hold meetings with clients, internal design team and coordinate with construction team on project related concerns.
- Respond to RFPs and bid on new design opportunities while ensuring all activities align with corporate strategic plans
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in utility design, power distribution, or stations projects, with at least 3 years in a project management role with financial accountability
- Bachelor's degree in electrical or civil engineering or an equivalent technical diploma (C.E.T.). A P.Eng, C.E.T., or PMP certification is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of utility standards, underground/overhead design practices, and municipal permitting processes.
- Sound computer skills, specifically in MS Project , SAP and Excel for cost/schedule tracking, and familiarity with design tools like AutoCAD or MicroStation.
- Proven leadership, communication, and negotiation skills with the ability to work independently and accurately under pressure and self motivated.

- Availability to travel to site visits within the GTA and various locations in Canada as required
