The role focuses on timely, compliant purchasing execution, supplier coordination, expediting, and stakeholder communication, while adhering to ConocoPhillips Supply Chain policies, controls, and service level commitments. Buyers will also manage various contracts and categories.This position is suited for an experienced buyer with strong industry knowledge who can operate with limited supervision, manage complex requisitions, and support continuous improvement across purchasing workflows.This is a 5/2 position based out of the Calgary office.Position OverviewResponsibilities:Purchasing & ExecutionExecute purchase requisitions through RFQ, award, and PO creation for materials and services in accordance with Supply Chain policies and delegation of authority.Manage purchase order lifecycle activities including change orders, acknowledgements, and issue resolution.Ensure service‑level commitments are met (e.g., new requisitions, change orders, and expediting timelines).Supplier & Expediting ManagementCoordinate with suppliers to confirm pricing, delivery dates, and technical compliance.Provide expediting support and status reporting for critical materials and services.Support supplier communication and issue escalation in collaboration with planners, contract specialists, and operations.Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, improve queue management, and reduce cycle times.Sourcing & Contract ManagementSupport sourcing and category initiatives by participating in RFQs, bid evaluations, and commercial comparisons in collaboration with Supply Chain Strategy, Contracts, and business stakeholders.Provide contract management support including release orders, amendments, renewals, and expiry tracking within delegated authority.Ensure sourcing and contracting requirements are followed when creating and managing purchase orders, including alignment to Supply Chain governance and delegation of authority.Coordinate with contract specialists, legal, and stakeholders to clarify terms, resolve commercial issues, and support supplier performance discussions as required.Contribute data, market insight, and execution feedback to inform sourcing strategies and continuous improvement efforts.Stakeholder SupportAct as the primary purchasing interface for planners, maintenance, operations, and warehouse teams.Provide clear and timely updates on order status, constraints, and risks.Participate in cross‑functional coordination and knowledge‑sharing forums as required.Systems, Controls & ReportingExecute transactions within approved ERP and procurement systems (e.g., requisition queues, buyer work crews, purchasing groups).Ensure compliance with internal controls, segregation of duties (SoD), and audit requirements.Contribute to KPI tracking and reporting related to purchasing performance and service levels.Required Qualifications:Post‑secondary education in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).Significant experience in purchasing or supply chain roles, preferably within oil & gas or industrial operations.Strong understanding of procurement execution, expediting, and materials/services purchasing.Experience working with ERP and procurement systems in a controlled environment.Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and work with minimal supervision.Must be legally authorized to work in Canada on a regular full-time basis without restrictions.Preferred Qualifications:Strong execution and follow‑through.Clear stakeholder communication.Sound judgment and risk awareness.Attention to detail and data integrity.Continuous improvement mindset.To be considered for this position you must complete the entire application process, which includes answering all prescreening questions and providing your eSignature on or before the closing date.Current employees: Please ensure you have discussed your intent to apply with your current supervisor prior to applying for any internal position.For information on our Sustainable Development performance in Canada, visitConocoPhillips is an Equal Opportunity Employer.Apply By: Apr 19, 2026Sponsorship: ConocoPhillips’ sponsorship for employment authorization in the country where this job is located is NOT available for this position.EEO: ConocoPhillips is an equal opportunity employer.
