
Senior Geotechnical Engineer - Dam and Hydropower Structure Design

- Job Description
- Lead complex geotechnical analyses for dams, dikes, and other hydropower structures.
- Oversee technical design and the production of deliverables: drawings, specifications, reports, cost estimates, recommendations, and permit applications.
- Plan, supervise, and interpret investigation campaigns (drilling, testing, instrumentation).
- Perform or validate advanced analyses: stability, seepage, settlement, foundations, and dynamic assessments.
- Contribute to project management (multidisciplinary coordination, team supervision, client relations) and participate in dam safety reviews (DSRs), specialized inspections, and mentoring activities.
- Profile
- Degree in civil or geological engineering, with a master's in geotechnical engineering (strong asset).
- At least 15 years of experience in the field, including design or rehabilitation projects for dams, dikes, and other hydraulic structures within hydropower complexes.
- Member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
- Proficiency in geotechnical modeling software: GeoStudio (Geo-Slope), Plaxis, FLAC, Settle3, etc.
- Experience in dynamic soil analysis and seismic design (asset).
- Excellent skills in technical writing, communication, knowledge transfer, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
- Comfortable working in both French and English, spoken and written (essential for pan-Canadian projects).
