We work alongside our members throughout their lives, saving them over 22 million dollars through year-round collaboration on optimal tax strategies and planning, allowing them to focus on what matters most: running their businesses and enriching their communities.Position OverviewAs a Local Tax and Member Services Advisor, you will meet with FBC Members in their place of business to understand their financial situation and provide tailored tax strategies that minimize taxes in both the short and long term. In addition, you will introduce them to our full range of services, including bookkeeping, legal assistance, payroll, and access to financial and estate planning professionals. This includes support in areas such as estate planning, retirement planning, and cash flow management, as their needs arise.This is a client-facing, impact-driven role ideal for professionals who are dedicated to building relationships, solving problems, and delivering real value. You will be expected to work onsite as required.Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Tax Advisor, you will:
- Provide exceptional tax and accounting advice to Members.
- Conduct Member reviews.
- Meet with members in their place of business.
- Support seasonal and year-round reconciliations and filings, including GST/HST, T1, T2, and other applicable tax returns.
- Foster strong relationships with Members and secure member referrals.
- Recognize member needs and connect them with our other domain experts within the company and network.
- Comprehensive exposure to a full corporate tax cycle, including preparation and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in tax preparation & accounting software, preferably with Taxprep and Xero. iFirm knowledge is an asset.
- Strong proficiency in corporate tax processes and regulations.
- Experience preparing tax returns for farms and small businesses.
- Superior client service skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proven ability to consistently meet deadlines.
- Dedicated to providing financial support that empowers Members.
- Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to analyze unique scenarios and provide customized recommendations.
- Please note that this is a role that requires travel. A reliable vehicle is necessary.
