- Preparation of all cold and hot items for service including but not limited to: vegetables, starches, desserts, sandwiches and salads.
- Set up and organization of station for optimum quality product, and efficient, timely service.
- Boiling, steaming, sautéing and plating and garnishing of all relevant items.
- Responds to guest requests and special dietary needs as required.
- Ensures proper food storage and product turnover.
- Cleans and sanitizes station and equipment to departmental standards.
- Cleans and maintains fridge and relevant storage areas to ensure proper food storage, product turnover, product disposal and recycling of all relevant food products.
- Identifies product and/or prep needs to Chef on Duty.
- A few years experience at a high quality, volume, hospitality or banquets operation.
- Understanding of contemporary creative cuisine.
- Demonstrated knowledge of food handling and advanced cooking techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to handle all kitchen equipment, and demonstrate safe handling to others
- Demonstrated knowledge of food handling, safety and sanitation standards.
- Teamwork, time management, and organization skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of hospitality practices and procedures
- Demonstrated understanding of cultural difference, sensitivity, awareness and lived experience
