We are seeking a UI/UX Designer with a strong focus on user interface design to join our client's dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for shaping and elevating the visual experience of products, ensuring that interfaces are intuitive and functional. This position leans more heavily into UI craft, visual systems, and interaction design than research-heavy UX.You will collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and other designers to transform ideas into polished, user-friendly interfaces that meet business goals and user needs. As an intermediate-senior designer, you will also contribute to design system evolution and mentor junior designers as needed.This is a 3 month contract which requires the talent to work on a hybrid basis at our client's office in downtown Toronto.Advantages

Responsibilities
  • Translate requirements and user needs into high-fidelity UI designs that are visually engaging and easy to use.
  • Create wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and production-ready assets for web and/or mobile platforms.
  • Evolve and maintain our design system to ensure consistency across products.
  • Work with developers to ensure design fidelity during implementation.
  • Use UX principles to ensure usability and accessibility, even while focusing on visual excellence.
  • Conduct light usability validation (when required) to confirm design effectiveness.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging tools, and UI/UX best practices.
QualificationsMust-Have Skills & Qualifications
  • Professional experience in UI/UX design with a portfolio showcasing strong UI-focused projects.
  • Advanced skills in design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD).
  • Strong understanding of visual design principles (layout, typography, color theory, hierarchy).
  • Experience creating and working with design systems.
  • Knowledge of responsive and adaptive design for web and mobile platforms.
  • Ability to communicate design decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Basic understanding of front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to improve collaboration with engineers.
  • Experience designing for complex workflows, dashboards, or enterprise applications.
  • Motion/interaction design skills (e.g., micro-animations, transitions, prototyping in Principle or After Effects).
  • Familiarity with conducting user testing or research activities.
  • Knowledge of AI-driven design tools or emerging technologies.
  • Experience in the financial industry is a huge plus.
