
Continuous Improvement Specialist

- Work closely with functional leaders and actively lead, Design /Develop, Resolve team issues, coach and guide cross-functional project teams in the application of Lean, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies;
- Serve as a technical resource for improvement teams, i.e. Provide support by analyzing data, change management, Project management and project implementation, lead CI events (Kaizens, brainstorming etc...);
- Contribute to building a culture of continuous improvement;
- Provide hands-on team guidance, support, and coaching to all roles and functions, to advance CI maturity at a sustainable pace;
- Provide CI trainings;
- Use project management techniques to prepare, manage and support project plans. Conduct phase gate reviews to ensure teams are successful in their project execution;
- Work with project teams to reduce implementation risks and ensure proper monitoring and controls mechanisms are in place before project closure;
- Capture and manage improvement results derived from Lean initiatives, Ensure CI program meet the objectives set;
- Support peer-to-peer learning and best practice sharing.
- Engineering Degree or equivalent;
- Lean expert or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt Certification an asset;
- 5+ years’ experience in CI;
- Experienced in working with cross-organizational teams;
- This position requires a self-starter with an engaging style; solid influencing and facilitation skills who will develop relationships and build on a collaborative work environment;
- Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving and ability to train on methodology;
- Demonstrated working knowledge with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies;
- Planning and time management;
- Develop and continuously improve development practices based on industry best practices and internal teams’ experience and learning;
- Ability to work effectively and facilitate functional teams of all levels;
- Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills;
- Strong verbal and written communication in French and English and organizational skills;
- Action oriented and ability to make decisions.
- Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada Reliability status and Secret Level 2/NATO Secret security clearance;
- Must be eligible to meet the requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
