- Safely work on elevated platforms while using fall protection and other safety measures to ensure personal safety during installation and construction processes
- Proficient in using a variety of hand tools to complete tasks efficiently and accurately while ensuring the proper maintenance and handling of all tools
- Accurately measure and cut metal components like Z-bar sub-girts, then install them securely to the wall surfaces as part of the framework for building structures
- Install and repair different types of metal roofing systems, such as insulated metal panels (IMP), ensuring proper alignment and secure fastening
- Install sheet metal flashings to seal joints, prevent water infiltration, and provide a neat finish to edges, corners, and transitions in the building structure, ensuring proper water flow and protecting against corrosion
- Carefully install insulated metal panels for walls and roofs, ensuring a secure and energy-efficient fit that meets both thermal and structural requirements
- Use telehandlers and cranes to move and position large pre-engineered metal building components, including girts, purlins, secondary framing, and roof/wall panels, while maintaining safety and structural integrity
- Install primary and secondary framing elements like girts and purlins, which provide essential structural support for the metal building systems.
- Accurately install wall and roof panels, ensuring proper sealing and attachment to the metal framing systems for structural stability and weather resistance.
- Understand and follow company guidelines for PPE, such as hard hats, gloves, harnesses, and safety glasses, to minimize the risk of injury on the job site.
- Safely and efficiently work with rigging equipment for lifting and moving heavy components, understanding the correct rigging techniques and safety procedures to prevent accidents.
- Safely handle and transport materials such as metal panels, framing, and other building components to the appropriate work areas, ensuring they are properly stored and organized.
- Operate aerial lifts and telehandlers safely, positioning them correctly to access high or difficult-to-reach areas for installation or construction purposes.
- Ensure that all materials are correctly measured, cut, and installed according to specifications and blueprints, maintaining a high standard of craftsmanship and quality control.
- Strictly adhere to Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) regulations to maintain a safe working environment, minimize risks, and comply with industry safety standards.
- Ensure that the work area remains organized and free of hazards by properly disposing of waste materials, removing debris, and keeping tools and equipment in good condition.
- Regularly review and follow safety policies and procedures, attending safety meetings and remaining vigilant about potential hazards.
- Ensure that all required safety certifications, such as fall protection and first aid training, are current and in compliance with workplace safety standards.
- Two (2) years of Pre-Eng Steel experience
- Journeyperson or Apprentice
- Comfortable working at heights
- Valid driver’s license, access to personal transportation, and clean drivers abstract
- Ability to follow engineering instructions and plans accurately
- Physically fit to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Able to work in a team environment
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic by arriving on time, maintaining focus on the task at hand, and following safety protocols to ensure a smooth and productive workday
- Cooperation and involvement in SRG health and safety practices
- Consistent work attendance
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs
- Must pass pre-employment alcohol and drug test including cannabis
