Job Title:General Practitioner – Shapedown ProgramWork Site:RichmondStatus:Locum, Part TimeStart Date:November 01, 2023Compensation Type:APACome work as a General Practitioner, Shapedown Program with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH)!Shapedown BC in Chinese is a family-centred healthy living program that offers medical, nutritional, and mental health assessment and support for children and teens aged 6-17 living with obesity or overweight and presenting with medical and psychological concerns. The Chinese program specifically serves children and families with a Chinese background.Richmond Community of Care is currently seeking 1 Part Time Physician working 2 half day afternoon’s or 1 full day per week in our Shapedown Program providing care and oversight to participants over 10-week period at 8100 Granville Ave, Richmond B.C. The Program is referral based for youths aged 6-17 years of age with a Body Mass Index greater than 97% or between 85-97% with other health conditions present. The focus of the clinic will promote healthy lifestyle choices, food knowledge and nutrition as well as exercise. The physician will review referral letters to ensure children/teenagers meet the criteria of the program, do intake with the children including history and full exams, assessment reports and will together with a multidisciplinary team of dieticians, mental health professionals and the participants general practitioner. In addition, the individual will need to do case planning, facilitate group sessions, and complete group reports and participate in meetings as needed with the program.Additional experience working with Youth is an asset. Hours to work at the clinic would be: Mondays 08:30-16:30 or can be flexible with another weekday.Language requirements for this position include Cantonese. Mandarin while not mandatory is an asset.Richmond is located 10 kilometers from downtown Vancouver, and with Vancouver International Airport and Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal nearby, there is ready access to all the recreational and cultural activities in the region and province.   • Current College of Physicians of BC (CPSBC)- Full
  • Canadian College of Family Practitioners (CCFP)- Mandatory
  • Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)- Mandatory
