
AVP, HR Business Partner

- Serve as a key strategic advisor and thought partner to Executive leadership, contributing to business strategy and developing people strategies, actions and outcomes
- Partner directly with Executives to provide coaching, consulting, solutions and challenge, where appropriate
- Collaborate with the SVP, CIO DCTS and Global Chief Architect to translate business objectives into impactful human capital strategies
- Drive alignment between DBTS global and DCTS priorities with Sun Life Canada's strategic initiatives
- Lead Executive talent searches in partnership with internal and external partners
- Spearhead innovative HR programs to attract, develop, and retain top tech talent in a competitive market
- Build knowledge of HR, technology and industry trends to future-proof talent capabilities
- Advance the talent and culture strategy, including transformation, change management, talent development, organizational effectiveness and strategic workforce planning
- Connect closely with teams in Sun Life Global Solutions (India and Philippines)
- Deliver on key HR initiatives and programs including Talent, Succession, Engagement, myPay and myPerformance.
- Collaborate across matrix structures to ensure seamless integration of talent and HR initiatives with broader business goals
- Engage, partner and co-create solutions with HR colleagues (Centres of Expertise, People Services and HRBPs) to solve business issues and optimize the employee experience
- Provide proactive advice using data, insights and analytics to inform business and talent decision making
- Utilize strong judgment and discretion in complex and confidential situations, considering all perspectives and impacts
- Undergraduate degree emphasis in a field related to an HR discipline and/or CHRP/CHRL designation
- 15+ years of progressive work experience in Human Resources, with a proven track record of partnering with senior executives
- Deep understanding of the intersection between technology, business strategy, and human capital management
- A risk and governance mindset, with the ability to manage organizational risk effectively
- Exceptional strategic thinking and business acumen, with the ability to translate complex tech concepts into people strategies
- Strong executive presence and credibility with senior leaders
- Creative thinker with a holistic understanding of the employee and manager life cycle, able to design engaging and impactful approaches to employee engagement
- Experience leading major organizational change initiatives and fostering a culture of innovation
- Self-starter with the ability to identify and activate opportunities
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment and adapt and pivot through change
