Reporting to the Safety Superintendent, you will work a 7 days on / 7 days off schedule at the Lac des Iles Mine site.The successful candidate will be responsible for interacting with all departments on the mine site including both underground and surface on various safety initiatives and issues. The responsibilities will include but are not limited to risk assessments, hazard identification, management of change process, Mine Rescue, safety auditing and entry, JOHSC, emergency response, planned inspections, and IRS with primary importance being focused on ensuring that safety regulations and procedures are followed and respected.Qualifications:The ideal applicant will possess an Occupational Health & Safety background related to the position with a minimum of 5 years' experience in Mining Health & Safety. The candidate will also have acquired their Common Core for First Line Underground Mine Supervisor Certificate.Strong communication, interpersonal skills and the aptitude for creating and maintaining a good work atmosphere while being a motivator for the personnel in his/her department are desired characteristics. Other required skills would be proficient in the usage of Microsoft Office products including MS Word, Power Point and MS Excel.What's in it for You:The position offers a competitive remuneration package consisting of base salary, health & medical insurance, retirement savings plan and travel allowance.
