It designs, develops, and maintains an array of electronic equipment for trains. Monitoring team in this division is responsible of the Bach-Simpson monitoring products and projects.How will you make a difference?As a member of the monitoring team in Bach-Simpson you will report the Products Line Manger, and you will be responsible for design, commissioning and technical support of Transit and Locomotive electrical, instrumentation, and automation systems of varying size and complexity, under the direction of more senior team members.What do we want to know about you?The following is the required qualification for this role:Degree/Diploma in EngineeringKnowledge in electronic and electrical systems design and programmingProgramming experience with CGood understanding of electronics components such as diodes, transistors, opt-electric devices, display technologies, discharge devices, power sources and ICs (VLSI, PAL, CPLD, FPGA, etc.),Experience with PCB design and troubleshootingProficient with AltiumAble to read, understand and apply proceduresGood understanding of written/spoken EnglishAttention to detailMust be able to meet deadlines and work well under pressureAbility to work with minimum supervisionEligibility Requirements:Legal authorization to work in Canada is requiredMust be willing to travel to customer site as required (10% or less)Able to travel to US for business tripsWhat will your typical day look like?The following is essential responsibilities for this role:Perform all aspects of technical workEmbedded C ProgrammingRead and interpret PCB, electrical and mechanical schematics/drawingsDesign and verify PCB, hardware fixture, test jigsCreate accurate BOMs, Test Instructions, Assembly Instructions, and Wiring InstructionsCreate detailed design documentation and estimate time to complete tasksReview drawings, BOMs, Test Instructions, Customer Specifications, test specifications, procedures and Wiring Instructions for accuracyWhat about the physical demands of the job?You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.Wabtec offers a comprehensive benefits plan including vacation, health, dental, and retirement.Wabtec will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in Canada for this opening.
