As a Geotechnical Field Services Technician, you'll be on the front lines of delivering field testing and high-quality geotechnical data that shapes safe, resilient, and sustainable infrastructure across the region. This junior-level role is ideal for someone eager to grow their technical skills, learn from experienced mentors, and contribute to meaningful engineering work that directly supports construction, land development, and transportation projects.Your Impact
- Perform field testing including compaction testing, concrete testing, soil sampling, and materials verification.
- Collect accurate geotechnical data to support design, construction monitoring, and regulatory compliance.
- Assist senior technicians and engineers with site investigations, drill rig support, and borehole logging.
- Apply geotechnical testing standards and quality procedures to ensure reliable, defensible data.
- Prepare organized and complete field notes, documentation, and daily testing summaries.
- Support and participate in WSP's safety programs, contributing to strong site-based hazard awareness.
- Contribute to diverse projects - transportation, buildings, infrastructure, land development - where every day brings something new.
- Experience through co-op, internship, or early career work in construction materials testing, field inspection, or geotechnical environments.
- A college technical diploma or university degree in civil, construction, geotechnical, environmental, or related disciplines (asset).
- Curiosity and willingness to learn geotechnical testing methods and industry standards.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather and traveling to field sites.
- Meets safety requirements and demonstrates proactive hazard awareness.
- A valid driver's licence.
- A hands-on problem solver who takes initiative in fast-paced environments.
