- Supporting the design and delivery of geotechnical aspects of a variety of infrastructure projects, from early planning through design and construction.
- Planning and executing geotechnical field investigations, including coordination with drilling contractors and other supporting field services.
- Reviewing and interpreting geotechnical data, including borehole logs, lab test results, and instrumentation readings.
- Performing technical analysis, calculation and design for shallow and deep foundations, retaining walls, slope stability, and seismic studies.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and external stakeholders to support project goals.
- Preparing technical memos, reports, and design documentation under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Contributing to the development of engineering drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Participating in construction support activities such as undertaking field reviews, reviewing submittals, responding to RFIs, and conducting site visits.
- Assisting with proposal preparation and scope development for geotechnical tasks.
- Demonstrating a commitment to quality, safety, and continuous learning in a collaborative team environment.
- 2-5 years of geotechnical engineering experience.
- Bachelor's level degree in Civil / Geotechnical Engineering. Post-graduate degrees would be considered an asset.
- Engineer-in-training (EIT), or eligibility as an EIT in the applicable province.
- Understanding of site investigation methods, typical geotechnical laboratory testing and materials testing during construction.
- Familiarity with industry standard geotechnical engineering software packages for slope stability analysis, pile design and settlement assessment. Experience with relevant technologies including Leapfrog, finite element analysis, such as PLAXIS or finite difference such as FLAC would be considered an asset.
- Valid driver's license.
