Brief Description:Our employer is a multi-service, client-centred, family service agency and a Children's Aid Society. They support the healthy development of individuals, children, families, and communities through prevention, protection, counselling, education, and advocacy services, within the context of Jewish values.They are looking for an individual to be responsible for assessment, case management, implementation and coordination of services for Holocaust survivors. The incumbent will utilize their expertise in Claims Conference supported services for Survivors coupled with in-depth knowledge of community resources, social service programs and healthcare systems to deliver quality services and resource linkages for our clients.Job Function:
  • Key Responsibilities
  • Provide assessment, case management, and supportive counseling to Holocaust survivors and their families.
  • Address changing client needs and develop tailored interventions.
  • Respond to crisis situations and apply best practices in trauma-informed care and geriatric social work.
  • Assist clients in accessing government programs, community services, and healthcare supports.
  • Develop case plans and assist in applying for restitution claims, working with relevant
agencies like the Claims Conference. * Conduct interviews to assess eligibility and support applications for various programs.
  • Conduct intake assessments and make referrals for treatment as needed.
  • Maintain expertise on services for Holocaust survivors, such as HSEAP, Restitution, and Café Europa.
  • Collaborate with community partners to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in line with Agency and Claims Conference guidelines.
  • Assist in mentoring and support cross-organizational efforts.
  • Advocate for client access to services and represent the Agency's mission and values.
  • Participate in research and evaluation programs related to Holocaust Survivor services.

Job Requirement:
  • Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with seniors and their families.
  • OCSWSSW membership in good standing.
  • Experience with trauma survivors, especially Holocaust survivors, preferred.
  • Knowledge of Jewish history, culture, and community resources is a strong asset.
  • Valid Ontario Driver's License and access to a vehicle.
  • Fluency in Russian is required; Hebrew, Polish, or Yiddish is an asset.
