- Install and secure all Command & Surveillance Systems (C&SS) cable terminations to the specified connectors, plugs or inline fitting as per program(s) scope of supply. Example:
- Single and Multimode fiber optic terminations
- Local Area Network (LAN) connections, including RJ45 connectors
- Multi-pin Military and commericial circular connectors
- Coax, Triax and Heliax connections
- Installation of specialty connectors and conduit as per manufacturer's instructions, in accordance to IPC/WHMA-A-620 standard
- Use the approved termination mathods and tooling
- Perform visual, mechanical, and electrical tests on every termination
- Record all test data in the Test Data Repository and provide pass/fail status to the SI&T Lead
- Identify and document all Cabling and Connectorization deficiencies.
- Must be willing to support a 24 x 7 environment including overtime and shift work (including weekends) and support remote customer site installations
- Candidate must be able to obtain a security clearance prior to working in shipyard, Dockyard or on board ship.
Member should be trained in MOST of the following types of connectorization:
- Commerical and Military fiber optic terminations
- LAN connections, including RJ45 connectors
- Multipin Military and commerical connectors, using soldering and crimping techniques
- Coax, Triax and Heliax connections
- Installation of specialty connectors and conduit as per manufacturer's instructions.
- Ability to work independently and in a group
- Prior certifications in MIL-STD-2042, IPS/WHMA-A-620, preferred but not required
- Networking and commerical fiber optic experience, preferred but not required
- Flexible, compressed work schedules, depending on business requirements, where you have the option of Fridays off, as well as the possibility to work remote part-time
