Our collaborative culture and our innovative, sustainable approach to projects help us create buildings that matter to our world.Together, we are enhancing the quality of life globally through design.Join us and design your place with Stantec.Your OpportunityYou will work as a Senior Electrical Engineer, leading the design of electrical systems for buildings including evaluation, recommendation, and specification of engineered systems or products in compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards / practices.You will perform a variety of tasks including writing proposals and meetings with both internal and external clients.Your Key ResponsibilitiesResponsible for projects of varying complexity/size.Evaluates, selects, specifies, and engineers electrical systems or products for a project.Engages in the development of a design from preliminary concepts through the construction document stage.Understanding of Revit/BIM technologies in development of models of building electrical systemsProvide markups for engineers and technologists/technicians.Leads project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor, sub-contractors, and vendors.Participate in client project requirement meetings and value analysis and basic cost estimating.Assists with developing and managing project scope, budget, staffing and schedule.Leads the preparation and coordination of project specifications.Performs and oversees the performance of calculations using company standard software, and proprietary manufacturer software.Utilizes advanced techniques for the analysis of specialized building electrical elements.Participate in constructability review.Conducts quality assurance and quality control on own projects.Assists in the development of new standards and specifications for the electrical group.Works on multiple projects.QualificationsComprehensive knowledge and application of the Canadian Electrical Code and applicable building and energy codes.Understanding and experience with all phases of project document production and the drawings and specifications.Extensive knowledge and experience with electrical systems means and methods, materials, and industry standards.Knowledge of power studies including short circuit, arc flash, and coordination studies.Ability to check the work of others for accuracy and completeness and manage time to meet project budget and schedule.Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought.Thorough understanding of electrical engineering concepts and ability to effectively communicate ideas to others.Advanced oral and written communication skills.Presentation and interview skillsRequires understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, Revit, AutoCADExperience with Lighting modeling Software and Newforma preferred.Education and ExperienceBachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering & Licensed Professional Engineer in British Columbia.Minimum 15 years of experience.Typical hybrid office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for periods of time with standard ergonomic sit-stand desks.This description is not a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that may be required of the employee and other duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned or may be changed at any time with or without notice.   • Locations Outside of Lower Mainland - BC - Min Salary $ 86,600.00 - Max Salary $ 125,600.00
  • Locations in Lower Mainland - BC - Min Salary $ 91,800.00 - Max Salary $ 133,100.00
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
