The individual will have use of an ALS company vehicle during working hours. Details are below:Client Services Representative (CSS2)This position will be responsible for representing ALS Environmental in the Victoria region through direct route delivery, pickup and client support for logistics of shipments to the main Burnaby laboratory location.Project Manager (CSS3)This position will work as part of a Project Management Team focused primarily on facilitating communication between ALS and the client. This position is also responsible for representing ALS Environmental in the Victoria region through direct route delivery, pickup and client support.There are three primary objectives of this role as follows:to optimize customer satisfaction, trust and relationship through excellent proactive communication, and the facilitation of technical support to ensure that project scope aligns with the project delivery to maximize the ALS share of work from the client via successful execution of the above objectivesSpecific ResponsibilitiesClient Services Representative (CSS2) ResponsibilitiesGreet clients and couriers;Coordinate and carry out pickup and delivery of supplies/materials to clients within Greater Victoria;Receive samples/materials from suppliers and clients;Manage stock of supplies and place orders;Perform inspections of goods/samples and note condition on delivery and sign off on date and time of receipt;Input receipt and shipping information, waybills, etc. of shipments into the ALS Laboratory Information Computer system;Transport or arrange transport of client samples to the courier or airport as required;Prepare, pack and ship supplies for client orders;Complete required shipping paperwork and communication with courier;Provide logistics service advice to clients to assist them in meeting project or regulatory objectives;Provide information to clients on branch services, contacts and capabilities, etc., as required;Answer telephone, email, and client requests as well as provide in person service support and forward to an appropriate ALS manager as required;Develop business relationships with clients in conjunction with Management and Sales;Meet with/visit local area clients at a specified frequency to provide service support;Provide information and specifics on client samples and projects;Involved with the implementation of a local business strategies (product positioning, key clients / markets and pricing);Obtain and record industry, client, and project activities within the region to assist developing local business strategies.Provide information to assist with the preparation of client quotations as required;Work with Management to plan and carry out any client activities (i.e. presentation, special events, open-houses, etc.);Participate in any industry, promotional, training events as required;Maintain knowledge of laboratory service offerings;Maintain a clean work area and organize stock and supplies;Manage vehicle records and ensure regular maintenance is carried out as required;Use correct methods in accordance with the established procedures and schedules while ensuring analytical quality;Observe established safety regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and procedures;Other duties as assigned.Project Manager (CSS3) ResponsibilitiesAll of the responsibilities of the Client Services Representative (CSS2) outlined above, plus the additional responsibilities outlined below:Meet with client project managers or other personnel as necessary in order to maintain positive customer relationships. Some travel on Vancouver Island may be required.Coordinate small to medium sized client accounts and profiles as designated by the Western Canada Regional Manager, Client Services Manager and/or Business Development Manager;Provide service advice to clients to assist them in meeting project or regulatory objectives;Deliver/participate in demonstrations and presentations, industry events, and promotional events such as conferences;Prepare quotations for ALS services and follow up with clients within 24 hours of delivery;Track client projects on the LIMS system and provide status updates when requested, proactively calling to advise clients of any anticipated delays;Issue rechecks for work submitted;Ensure timely completion and transmission of final and draft client reports;Provide direction, information and specifics on client samples and projects to appropriate laboratory, sample management and office services staff;Maintain communication with laboratory staff on general lab turnaround times and relay appropriate information to clients;Communicate any special client requests to staff;Be familiar with appropriate environmental regulations;Provide information to clients on branch services, capabilities, qualifications, turnaround times, etc., as required;Support other members of the Client Services team in relation to client requests;Required Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesStrong interpersonal and communication skills;Organized, detailed oriented with the ability to meet strict deadlines;Excellent English communication skills both written and verbal;Strong customer service focus;Highly motivated and able to work independently as well as part of the team;Positive and energetic outlook including a proactive approach;Demonstrated time management skills;Proven ability to work under pressure;Strong computer skills.Required QualificationsProject Manager (CSS3) QualificationsRecognized BSc. or Technical Diploma in Chemistry, or related discipline is required;Minimum 1 year of experience in Environmental Chemistry or related field preferred.Minimum 1 year client service or sales experience preferred.Valid Provincial Class 5 driver’s license with 3 years driving history and a clean driving history (abstract required);TDG Ground Certification, or willingness to obtain training and certification;Knowledge of the environmental industry an asset.Client Services Representative (CSS2) QualificationsCompletion of high school diploma or equivalent required;Minimum 1 year client service or sales experience preferred.Valid Provincial Class 5 driver’s license with 3 years driving history and a clean driving history (abstract required);TDG Ground Certification, or willingness to obtain training and certification;Knowledge of the environmental industry an asset.Physical DemandsManual dexterity to perform intricate and/or repetitive tasks;Ability to sit at a desk and do general office work, which includes periodic sedentary responsibilities;Ability to stand for a full shift;Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis throughout the work day;Wear issued personal protective equipment (PPE) safety glasses, gloves etc., when appropriate.Our Benefits Include:An estimated hourly pay of $28.11 CAD at the time of posting.
