- Prepare and process bi-weekly payroll operations with precision and adherence to deadlines.
- Verify the accuracy of payroll reports through detailed audits and reconciliations.
- Handle payroll-related documentation, including Records of Employment (ROEs) and tax forms.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll and resolve issues efficiently.
- Assist with maintaining and updating employee records, including new hires, terminations, and salary adjustments.
- Support the preparation of various reports, including ad hoc, monthly, quarterly, and year-end summaries.
- Contribute to the administration and maintenance of company benefit programs.
- Provide training and guidance to new management staff on payroll processes and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with multi-provincial payroll regulations and union agreements.
- Maintain organized payroll records to support audit and compliance requirements.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a payroll administration role.
- Certification from the National Payroll Institute (e.g., PCP designation) is an asset.
- Proficiency in using ADP Workforce Now or Dayforce for payroll processing.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll regulations, taxation, and multi-provincial payroll practices.
- Experience working within a unionized environment is preferred.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with strong interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
