Together, we’re working at the pace of change to improve patient lives with diagnostic tools that address the world’s biggest health challenges.The Field Service Representative (FSR) for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for providing outstanding customer service to clients while installing and maintaining diagnostic instrumentation and systems in hospital and stand-alone laboratory environments.This position is part of the Field Service Organization located in Edmonton, Alberta and will be supporting a territory around the Alberta region. At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time.You will be a part of the Field Service Representative team and report to the Western service manager responsible for providing frontline support by resolving customer(s) problems and issues through technical expertise and troubleshooting. The FSR uses critical thinking to resolve issues within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action to rapidly repair instrumentation. FSRs also provide training to our customers, verify the operational performance of the instrumentation, and data quality of systems ensuring we provide the most accurate results in the marketplace.   • Serve as lead to assigned customers and under minimal supervision complete troubleshooting, installation, validation, maintenance, and service repair needs on designated instrumentation.
  • Complete on-time and accurate: Preventative Maintenance, Field Modifications, instrument repairs, and work-order / service call documentation. Provide excellent and efficient customer service to Beckman Coulter’s customers, along with technical training on products.
  • Focus on customer needs and satisfaction, while building on and enhancing the relationship with the customer to ultimately become a perceived partner in their business. Travel throughout the district’s territory, and or Canada, experiencing all the various places our instrumentation is utilized
The essential requirements of the job include:
  • Technical diploma in Biomedical, Electronics, or related field with minimum of 1-year of relatable experience (field service experience preferred).
  • Ability to travel to and from the United States of America, a valid driver's license, and meeting Beckman Coulter safe driver criteria that complies with the Danaher Company Vehicle Policy, and vendor credentialing requirements. This includes without limitation: yearly background checks, immunizations, COVID vaccinations and various trainings.
  • Hold a current valid driver’s license and good driving record over the last three. Ability to travel (providing service in an assigned geography and periodic travel to other areas/overnight). Candidates must be able to lift, lower and carry up to 50 lbs. unassisted (tools, replacement parts, consumables etc.). Candidates must be able to frequently bend, stoop, twist, turn, crouch/crawl, push/pull, and sit/stand for extended periods of time. Candidates must also be able to reach at, above and below shoulder level, flex/extend neck, have good hand, and finger dexterity.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
  • Servicing any of the following instrumentations: chemistry, immunochemistry, hematology, urinalysis
