Employment Type: Full-Time, Leadership RoleA respected organization in the public-sector insurance space is conducting a confidential search for an experienced Director, Insurance Services to lead a high-performing team of commercial insurance professionals. Reporting directly to senior leadership, this role is responsible for overseeing client service delivery, team leadership, operational planning, and underwriting a complex book of municipal and not-for-profit accounts.This is a high-impact leadership opportunity offering the ability to influence product strategy, improve service delivery, and play a key role in annual program renewals.Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team ManagementLead and mentor a team of front-line insurance advisors and consultants.Oversee team performance, workflows, training, and development.Drive accountability through clear KPIs and operational reporting.Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.Assign work, manage team capacity, and provide ongoing support and communication.Client Service & OperationsDirectly manage key client accounts as required.Monitor market trends and evolving client needs to guide service enhancements and product evolution.Represent the organization in client consultations, educational events, and strategic discussions.Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure streamlined service delivery and operational efficiency.Underwriting & Technical OversightLead underwriting decisions for new business and renewals, particularly for complex or non-standard risks.Support the development and implementation of underwriting guidelines and practices.Provide oversight on standalone placements, alternative retentions, and facultative policies.Review insurer documentation and policy wordings for accuracy and communicate key changes to the team and clients.Contribute to program development, renewal strategies, and client-facing materials.Qualifications & ExperienceChartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation is required.Minimum of 7-10 years' experience in commercial insurance, with a strong preference for prior brokerage experience.Post-secondary education in a related discipline or equivalent work experience.Solid technical knowledge of underwriting, policy wordings, and risk management practices.Previous leadership experience managing a team in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.Ability to interpret complex insurance documentation and provide strategic recommendations.Knowledge of public-sector insurance or reciprocal programs is an asset.Why This Role?Join a stable and mission-driven organization that supports public entities and not-for-profit organizations.Lead a collaborative and high-performing team committed to excellence in service delivery.Influence product development and strategy at the leadership level.Competitive compensation package and flexible work arrangements available.Apply TodayPlease submit your resume directly to Whitney Green via email at referencing Job ID: 79269About UsExecutrade is one of Western Canada's most comprehensive full-service recruitment firms, with over 50 years of expertise in connecting talented professionals with leading organizations.We are proud to apply principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion in all our recruitment practices, ensuring equal opportunities for all candidates.
