- Serve as the primary advocate for equity, diversity, inclusion, and indigeneity within the student council.
- Develop and implement initiatives that promote an inclusive environment for all students, with a particular focus on underrepresented groups.
- Collaborate with other council members and university departments to address systemic issues and foster a culture of respect and belonging.
- Plan, organize, and support departmental events that build community and enhance student engagement.
- Collaborate with fellow council members to bring creative ideas to life through social, academic, and networking events.
- Ensure events are inclusive, well-run, and accessible, fostering a welcoming environment for all students.
- Develop engaging marketing strategies to promote departmental events, initiatives, and opportunities.
- Create visual and written content for social media, posters, and other promotional materials.
- Assist with designing, managing, and selling departmental merchandise to boost spirit and community pride.
- Assist the DSC co-Presidents with tasks they need assistance on, collaborate on projects, and oversee the sanctioning of events.
- Assist in the daily operations and logistics of the DSC.
- Serve as a liaison between DSC council members and the executive team.
- Oversee financial reimbursement for the team
- Work alongside the presidents and events team to manage budgets on upcoming events
- Manage overall budget and spending for the DSC
