Eligible for incentive program.The Sales Manager brings experience in group sales, business travel sales, and event sales. This role is responsible for growing business in the group and select transient segments by developing existing accounts and securing new business for the hotel. The Sales Manager is also accountable for achieving assigned monthly and quarterly sales goals.Primary responsibilities include responding to incoming inquiries and proactively soliciting new business across various segments, including group and transient markets. This role involves selling guest rooms, meeting space, food and beverage services, and other Hyatt offerings for meetings and conventions.The Sales Manager is an integral member of the Sales team and collaborates closely with the Events, Revenue Management, Reservations, and Operations departments to ensure the smooth execution of all booked business. We seek a strong team player with experience in both group and transient sales at a medium to large sized property.Candidates must be flexible with their work schedules to accommodate business demands, including occasional early mornings, evenings, and/or weekends.Duties include but not limited to:Actively solicit and secure new meetings business through outside calls, personal calls, site inspections, telephone and email prospecting and potentially sales trips to designated geographic areas of responsibilityMeet and exceed revenue sales goals on a monthly, quarterly and annual basisMaintain strong relationships with existing accounts to rebook annual or past programsGenerate new clientele opportunities through referrals, customer recommendations and market awarenessSolidify relationships with new and existing clients through regular sales contacts/visits, client entertainment, site inspections and follow upDevelop creative sales solutions and site inspections to distinguish Hyatt as the place to meet in a competitive Vancouver marketProactive in adhering to expected sales activities on a weekly basis to ensure individual and team goals are achievedMeet or exceed sales solicitation goals as assigned by the Director of Sales and MarketingSource new accounts in the corporate, association and union sectors among others, to maintain and enhance a healthy portfolio of group business accountsRespond to client requests in a timely fashion and ensure all proposals and contracts meet client expectations while following all hotel guidelinesParticipate in business review meetings and other pertinent meetings as requiredParticipate in trade shows, industry functions and possibly out of town sales callsEngage with definite groups on-site and communicate with Events and other operations departments to ensure client satisfactionMaintain relationship with Hyatt Sales Force directors as well as other local industry organizations such as Destination VancouverRemain current on all competitors as well as changes in the market and industryProvide monthly and other required activity reports to the Director of Sales and MarketingPartner with operations team to coordinate customer needs and effectively respond to opportunities to ensure client satisfactionQualifications:QualificationsCollege degree or high school diploma with related experiencePrevious hotel sales management experience with Business Travel and Tour and Wholesale market experience an assetMust be fluent in spoken and written English; a second language is also an assetExcellent verbal and written communication skills including leading and participating in formal presentationsAbility to secure business through prospecting, making presentations, strong negotiation and closing skillsSolid organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environmentExcellent computer skillsKnowledge of TravelClick business intelligence products and STR reportsExperience with a major hotel brand is preferredAbility to work as part of a teamStrong desire to deliver high quality customer serviceDetail oriented and organized as it pertains to accuracy and efficiencySolid management and organizational skills
