Position Summary:Tacten is seeking Rope Access JP CWB Welders to join our team for our Fall Outage in the Fort McMurray area. As a JP Welder, you will be a key member of our team responsible for executing high-altitude tasks with precision, efficiency, and safety.Position Information:
  • Fall Outage
  • Outage duration: September 4th, 2025 - October 19, 2025
  • 6/1 rotation, 12 hour shifts
  • IRATA Level 1 required, or willingness to obtain.
  • Fly-in-fly-out from all major hubs in Canada
  • Camp provided
Responsibilities:
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols to determine welding requirements
  • Set up welding equipment and select appropriate welding techniques and materials
  • Prepare metal surfaces by cleaning, grinding, and beveling as necessary
  • Perform welding operations using shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), or other welding processes
  • Monitor and adjust welding parameters to ensure weld quality and adherence to specifications
  • Inspect welded joints for defects and perform corrective actions as needed
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and procedures while performing welding tasks
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and properly store welding equipment and materials
  • Collaborate with other team members to complete projects on time and according to requirements
Requirements:
  • Journeyman Welding Certification required
  • CWB Certification required
  • IRATA Level 1 required, or willingness to obtain.
  • Current safety tickets as per provincial standards
Safety Certifications
  • OSSA BSO or OSSA CSO required
