Edmonton is a place where you can enjoy space, community, and opportunity, without the congestion and expense of larger centers.Our client is seeking to relocate an experienced Plant Manager from within Canada to Edmonton, someone who brings proven concrete expertise. This rare opportunity combines professional growth with an enviable quality of life.The Plant Manager will be responsible for eliminating bottlenecks, leading budgets and capex planning, aligning production to demand, and coordinating multi-site operations through experienced superintendents.Plant Manager responsibilities:
  • Own end-to-end performance of three production sites across Edmonton.
  • Lead and develop plant superintendents, setting targets, coaching, and holding teams accountable.
  • Identify and remove operational bottlenecks; implement throughput, quality, and cost improvements.
  • Build and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and capex plans; track KPIs and report to senior leadership.
  • Coordinate daily/weekly production plans with other internal stakeholders to ensure supply aligns to project demand.
  • Partner with Quality Control and internal Maintenance divisions (mechanical support) to minimize downtime.
  • Plan and supervise seasonal night-shift operations, ensuring safety, staffing, and continuity.
  • Drive safe work practices and compliance across sites, champion continuous improvement and standard work.
  • Support commissioning and scale-up of the new plants; evaluate process changes and vendor/equipment options.
  • Represent the plants in cross-functional meetings; prepare and deliver clear presentations and updates.
The successful candidate has:
  • Demonstrated leadership in concrete and/or similar plant operations.
  • Proven success leading supervisors/superintendents, setting KPIs, and improving throughput, quality, and cost.
  • Strong operational acumen: scheduling, materials flow, capacity planning, and seasonal readiness.
  • Mechanical aptitude to collaborate with maintenance (engineering degree not required); comfortable with plant walk-throughs and equipment discussions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; confident working with senior leadership, sales, and field teams.
  • Budgeting/capex experience and data-driven decision-making; proficiency with production metrics and reporting.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Compensation and benefits:
  • Base salary $135,000 to $145,000 per annum depending on experience.
