Existing Vacancy: YesDescription:Sinai Health System and the Department of Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery, University of Toronto are seeking to recruit a full-time Clinician Investigator in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at the rank of Assistant Professor. The effective start date is September 1, 2026, or as mutually agreed upon.This position is ideally suited to an early to mid-career Otolaryngologist-Head & Neck Surgeon with a strong academic interest in Public Health, Clinical Epidemiology, Head & Neck Oncology, and Reconstructive Surgery. The position requires a significant commitment to research, and will involve collaboration with Princess Margaret Hospital/University Health Network (UHN) to support multidisciplinary Head & Neck Cancer care.Clinical ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will provide comprehensive clinical care in Head & Neck Oncology, including the surgical management of both complex malignant and benign tumours. They will perform advanced Head & Neck Reconstruction, employing local, regional, and microvascular techniques to optimize functional and aesthetic outcomes. The role also includes managing Endocrine Surgery cases relevant to Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery, such as thyroid and parathyroid procedures. The candidate will participate fully in the departmental on-call rotation and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment, engaging closely with surgical, medical, and radiation oncology partners at Princess Margaret Hospital and the University Health Network (UHN) to deliver seamless, coordinated care for head & neck cancer patients.Academic and Research ResponsibilitiesThe primary academic focus of this position is on Public Health or Clinical Epidemiology, with an emphasis on developing and sustaining an independent, extramurally funded research program. The successful candidate will be expected to secure research grants, publish in peer-reviewed journals, and present findings at national and international scientific meetings. A master's degree-such as an MPH, MSc in Health Policy, Clinical Epidemiology, or an equivalent graduate qualification-is highly preferred. Candidates who do not yet possess a master's degree must demonstrate a strong commitment and a clear plan to obtain one within the first three years of starting their practice. Fellowship training in Head & Neck Oncology and Reconstruction is required. The candidate must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) and hold certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery or possess equivalent board certification.
