Job Category: Food & BeverageJob Description:Great Blue Heron Casino & Hotel is seeking a Part-time Cafeteria Attendant!The ideal candidate is an energetic professional with proven knowledge, skills and abilities, executing the following in support of the company's vision, mission and values:
  • Excellent internal and external customer service skills are required to be displayed at all times
  • Prepare items pertaining to cafeteria and quick serve menus
  • Pick up items from the kitchen upon notification of their readiness
  • Solid understanding of the P.O.S. system including Shift Changing Procedures, opening and closing procedures and cash settlement
  • Responsible for completing and maintaining daily and weekly cleaning lists
  • Organize and store supplies such as dishes, condiments and cleaning supplies; be consistent with stocking these supplies to allow efficient accessibility for the next shift change
  • Notify the kitchen in a timely manner by radio and/or phone of any cooked products needed and plan accordingly to ensure ample stock levels are maintained during breaks
  • Maintain levels of products required in designated storage areas for the cooks to ensure efficient preparation of cafeteria and quick serve items
  • Maintain and ensure cleanliness of all counters, tables in the break room, and food preparation areas
  • Assist with duties for the cooks and stewards as required
  • Perform other duties as required by the Sous Chef
Successful applicants will demonstrate the following qualifications:
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of kitchen or service experience including P.O.S. operations
  • Show initiative and understanding of other roles and responsibilities in the kitchen
  • WHMIS Certified
  • Good knife handling skills
  • Ability to follow instructions in a friendly and professional manner
  • Be thoroughly familiar with the causes of food poisoning and method of prevention
  • Ability to analyze current inventory and develop daily prep lists in order to control food waste and spoilage
  • Ability to prioritize and possess excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with fellow employees and management
  • Excellent customer service skills to maintain good rapport with customers and employees
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision, independently and under pressure in a fast paced environment.
Candidates must be ready and willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays and overnights. The hours of work will be based on operational needs. Ready to embark on your next adventure?
