Client is a Canadian-based integrated energy company headquartered in Calgary.
Client operates in Canada, the United States and the Asia Pacific region.
Our operations include oil sands projects in northern Alberta, thermal and conventional crude oil and natural gas projects across Western Canada, crude oil production offshore Newfoundland and Labrador and natural gas and liquids production offshore China and Indonesia.Responsibility of / Expectations from the Role:
1) Windows Infrastructure Management
  • Manage, configure, and troubleshoot Windows Server environments, including AD, DNS, DHCP, IIS, Group Policies, clustering, and virtualization.
  • Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of Windows-based systems.
2) Active Directory & Identity Services
  • Administer and maintain Active Directory, including user/group management, OU structure, GPOs, replication, domain controllers, and security hardening.
  • Perform AD health checks, backup and recovery, and identity lifecycle operations.
3) Azure Cloud & Migration Support
  • Support Azure-based workloads, including IaaS and PaaS resources, storage accounts, virtual networks, and backup/recovery.
  • Assist in migrating on-prem workloads to Azure using ASR, Azure Migrate, and ARM templates.
  • Collaborate with Cloud Architects to implement and optimize cloud solutions.
4) Automation & Scripting
  • Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for automation of routine admin tasks.
  • Implement Infrastructure-as-Code practices where applicable.
5) VMware Virtualization Management
  • Administer VMware ESXi hosts, vCenter, VM provisioning, performance tuning, HA/DRS setups, snapshot management, and P2V/V2V migrations.
6) Monitoring, Security, and Compliance
  • Monitor server health, performance, and logs using enterprise monitoring tools.
  • Ensure patching, security hardening, and compliance with organizational standards.
  • Support incident, problem, and change management processes (L2/L3 level).
7) Collaboration & Customer Interaction
  • Work closely with internal teams, cloud architects, and SMEs to deliver stable operations.
  • Provide technical support, documentation, and help drive process improvements.
  • Engaging with customers professionally; ensure timely issue resolutions and updates.
Must-Have:
1) In-depth knowledge and experience with enterprise scale Windows technologies such as Server platforms, Active Directory, IIS, Windows Clustering and Virtualization.
2) Demonstrated scripting experience preferably with PowerShell.
3) Solid understanding of Windows Server 2008 to latest
4) Good understanding of Azure Cloud services with respect to IaaS and PaaS models.
5) Experienced implementing highly available solutions on cloud, load balancing, using traffic manager, backup, recovery, storage services
6) Experienced in automating the infrastructure as a code
7) Proficiency in developing and deploying cloud-based services & solutions
8) Assist Cloud Architects to provide operations and migration services that enable the availability and delivery of cloud computing services based on business and technical requirements
9) Expertise in Implementation of Public Cloud technologies primarily Microsoft Azure
10) Working Knowledge of minimum two Enterprise customers for Public Cloud Implementation
11) Handled Minimum two Enterprise Customers for Public Cloud Implementation and Migrations
12) Experience in carrying out the MAP tool assessments and Azure Site Recovery deployment planner tool
13) Working Knowledge/Experience in Setting up AD, DNS and Backup Configurations, Monitoring Solutions, Patching.
14) Experience In Migrating the On-Premises Workloads to Public Cloud using Native Microsoft Azure toolsets Such as ASR (Azure Site Recovery) and Azure Migrate.
15) Knowledge in using ARM templates.
16) Strong customer-facing skills such as problem-solving skills, professional demeanor, willingness to contribute to all levels, strong communications skills, ability to multi-task, excellent work ethic with a commitment to integrity
17) Deploying, migrating & maintaining Windows/Linux workloads in AzureVMware Management
1) Good Understanding of virtualization technology
2) Experience on VMware ESXi 5.x to latest and on VSphere would be preferable.
3) Experience in P2V, VMotion and VMware virtual center.
4) Good hands-on command line of ESXi.
5) Good hands-on Experience in diagnostics & troubleshooting of ESXi server environment.
6) Good understanding of HA and DRS environment.
7) Experience in performance tuning of VMWare servers and Virtual sessions and management of server's resources between virtual machines.
8) Experience in backup and recovery of Virtual machines and virtual servers.Good-to-Have
1) Working Knowledge of Core Services such as AD, DNS, Monitoring, Backup, Patching and Security tools
2) Must have Microsoft Azure 70-533 certification
3) Handling Multi Cloud platform is an advantage
