As part of the key accountabilities of the role, the AVP will lead a team and be accountable for:Thought leadership on risks, controls, testing and issues.Maintaining the documentation and assessment of key controls, including the Wealth regulatory control mapping, process, risk and control self-assessments, and the coverage map of first- and second-line monitoring and testing programsIngestion of the regulatory mapping data into the Enterprise book of record/ toolExecuting testing of the design and operating effectiveness of key controls, including identification of control enhancements / automationConducting field review for certain Wealth business linesMaintaining processes to identify and track issues to remediation and manage the workflow in Enterprise toolLeading the Wealth Issues Management CommitteeSupporting executive reporting, including meaningful data insights, on controls, testing, and issuesProviding guidance and support in the design, implementation, and sustainment of controls within key processes and proceduresPeople management processes, including hiring and termination, team objective setting, training, and ongoing performance feedback processes; ensures team adheres to enterprise frameworks and methodologies and meets objectivesSupporting other G&C leaders to help ensure businesses remain compliant with regulatory, risk management and control expectationsEffectively managing ad-hoc governance, risk management and control projects or tasks of varying complexities within established deadlinesEstablishing strong relationships and maintaining an efficient interaction model with business and control partners (Compliance, Risk, AML, and Internal Audit)Fostering an environment and culture that encourages productivity, innovation, process improvement, teamwork, and a high level of professionalismJob RequirementsStrategic and thought leadership with the ability to lead organizational and process changes; and synthesize trends and key insightsDemonstrated inclusive leadership and proven ability to communicate with and influence different levels of management, including dealing with conflictExcellent verbal and written communication skillsEffective time management, multi-tasking, and organizational skills to meet tight timeframes as well as flexibility to adapt to changing prioritiesAbility to strike the appropriate balance between compliance/regulatory risk obligations, business results and opportunities, the client and employee experience, and expense managementProfessional accounting/auditing/risk management designation would be considered an assetKnowledge of wealth management businesses, and regulatory compliance landscape preferred.Who We Are:TD is one of the world's leading global financial institutions and is the fifth largest bank in North America by branches/stores.
