DescriptionThis position exists to support the Community and Family Service Center, and Thrift store with overall cleaning and upkeep of the facility.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensures the facility's general upkeep, such as cleaning floors, washrooms, windows; dusting, collecting and disposing of garbage; and vacuums. Checks, cleans, moves, arranges and dusts furniture as required
  • Restocks washroom supplies and distributes received material as required
  • Spot washes accessible walls
  • Establishes and monitors preventative maintenance procedures for related equipment; recommends repairs and purchases as required
  • May perform several minor repairs and duties in a variety of trade areas such as electrical, carpentry, plumbing and painting; reports safety concerns and significant repair issues (e.g. furniture and fixtures).
  • Performs other duties as assigned
HOURS: 30 Hours per week; these will range from early afternoon to evening, depending on our needs and the candidate.QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to sustain the daily routine of moderate to heavy lifting, reaching and bending
  • Adaptability to changes and interruptions in the regular work routine.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality about guest and customer operations.
  • Willingness to work with individuals from differing backgrounds/cultures
  • Completion of high school. Any specialized training or experience would be considered an asset
  • The ability to work well alone or within a team.
  • Willingness to work afternoon and evening hours.
