
Maintenance Coordinator

- Provision of general project support and administration activities to the Waterfront Service Delivery Team; Reviewing and ensuring that maintenance instructions are complete and sufficient for service providers to complete assigned maintenance operations;
- Assist assigned Ship Maintenance Lead with work period planning; Overseeing maintenance activities being conducted by service providers ensuring that the work is being conducted to the required quality in a safe and environmentally friendly manner; Compiling Work Item closure reports, ensuring completeness and accuracy, and entering into the designated project tool for Work Item closure; Generating and managing documentation and reports in various formats (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as and when required in support of the Service Delivery Team;
- Ensuring subcontracted service providers have the necessary paperwork and materials to complete designated maintenance tasks; Supporting Corrective Maintenance Ship Maintenance Lead with tracking and resolution for Corrective Maintenance / Operation Deficiencies; Attending meetings and preparing meeting agendas and minutes;
- Ensuring service provider records are complete and up to date; Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety requirements; Assisting the Service Delivery team with keeping accurate and timely records; Updating DRMIS with Corrective and Preventative Maintenance Records; Assist in the onsite management of Worker Access Management System.
- Minimum 2-year technical program diploma offered by a recognized technical institute or University Degree or certified as a technician by a recognized provincial licensing body in a relevant field marine field or certified as Navy QL 6 and above for technical trades of the RCN.
- Experience within procurement, project management or operations highly desirable; and Project experience interfacing between internal/external stakeholders.
- Minimum two years of previous experience working within the Military or a Industrial Contract or Project desirable; Experience with the Defense Resource Management Information System (DRMIS), or comparable document management system is advantageous;
- Experience working in SAP, or comparable Enterprise Resource Planning or Asset Management software is advantageous;
- Previous experience in ship-refit and repair activities is advantageous.
- Predominantly working onsite in the Naval Dockyard and onboard Naval Vessels, will also be required to work from the office or from home.
- Will be required to undertake inspections, including confined space entry, on Naval ships involving bending and twisting. Tasks may also requiring working at heights.
- Office and Naval ships alongside in harbor, or at sea, therefore must meet all federal government requirements to access Canadian government facilities, including naval dockyards.
- Occasional domestic or international travel will be required, which will include access to government facilities and assets, including naval vessels
