- Electrical Architecture Design: Develop electrical architectures for battery pack products, including specifying, selecting, and integrating components for power conversion, distribution, safety, monitoring, and external system connectivity.
- System Delivery: Ensure electrical systems meet functional requirements, safety certifications, manufacturing readiness, cost targets, and regulatory standards.
- Documentation & Schematics: Create detailed electrical and power schematics, wiring and harness diagrams, 3D wiring layouts, and bills of materials (BOMs) using CAD and ECAD tools.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with mechanical, electrochemical, and manufacturing teams to ensure designs meet functional, integration, and design-for-manufacturing (DFM) requirements.
- Testing & Verification: Define and execute test plans to verify performance and safety of engineering samples, including energy storage, power flow, and compliance with standards (e.g., LV/HV isolation, insulation resistance, electrical noise, EMC).
- BMS & Hardware Support: Support the design and integration of Battery Management Systems (BMS), control and switching components, and sensing and monitoring hardware.
- Design Reviews & Improvements: Lead and contribute to design reviews, DFMEA, root cause analysis, and continuous product improvement initiatives.
- Engineering Advocacy: Champion the engineering cycle by integrating feedback from internal, field, and commercial testing into design improvements.
- Fixture & Process Development: Drive the development of electrical test fixtures, jigs, and assembly processes for pack validation and engineering sample builds.
- Technical Support: Provide technical assistance for prototype builds, manufacturing transfer, and vendor qualification.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to electrical safety and regulatory standards (e.g., UL, IEC, CE).
