- Develops engaging, creative content and lesson plans aligned with contract goals and Prospect’s service model
- Plans and delivers in-person and virtual workshops using arts-based projects to build essential employment skills
- Provides support for pre-employment workshops, including assistance with resume and cover letter development, job search activities, interview preparation, and digital literacy
- Provides coverage for and/or facilitates job search and career development sessions, including Job Clubs, as necessary
- Creates and maintains materials and resources for workshops; adapts delivery based on participant needs and current trends
- Supports public exhibitions and collaborative art events, including supply coordination, logistics, and participant leadership development
- May assist with client intakes and Employability Readiness Assessments to help identify skill levels, job readiness, career interests, and support needs
- Provides hands-on support in Job Club, working alongside the Career Advisor to assist clients who require additional guidance with job search activities, resume and cover letter development, interview preparation, and employment-related digital tools.
- Supports clients in building confidence and working toward their employment goals by assisting with employment skill development workshops that highlight individual strengths and abilities.
- Utilizes knowledge of community resources to collaborate with the Career Advisor and Program Manager in referring clients to appropriate internal or external supports, such as housing, mental health services, food security programs, or language assistance, as needed or requested
- Builds and maintains partnerships with organizations, businesses, and community agencies to create opportunities for collaboration, skill-building, and client networking.
- Assists with public event planning and development of marketing content for exhibitions and community outreach
- Champions Prospect’s mission, vision, brand pillars, and inclusive practices
- Degree or certificate in a related field (Art, Social or Human Services, Education, or Career Development) or an equivalent combination of experience and education
- 2+ years’ experience in a similar program coordination or career development role
- Demonstrated experience as a practicing artist and/or a strong background and interest in the arts, with experience facilitating or teaching arts-based workshops or classes
- Experience facilitating group-based workshops and providing one-on-one employment support
- Strong interpersonal and coaching skills with the ability to engage and motivate diverse participants
- Strong oral communication skills to be able to relay instructions
- Experience supporting individuals with mental health challenges, disabilities, and diverse lived experiences is considered an asset
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital communication tools
- Knowledge of digital literacy and employment search tools
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with a creative and client-centered approach
- Familiarity with career development tools and assessment methods is an asset
- Counselling experience and/or Career Development designation is an asset
- Knowledge of community resources and social supports is considered an asset
- All employees must pass a background check
- Some lifting (up to 20 lbs) may be required for workshop materials and setup
- Participates in evening events, including program exhibitions and showcases
- This is a hybrid position; flexibility is required to work from both home and the office
