When you join Energy Safety Canada, you are part of a team committed to getting workers home safely every day.What is the opportunity:The Administrative Assistant will provide administrative, project, and research support to the Careers in Energy team. This includes project and event support for department initiatives, as well as content creation and digital platform management.What will you do:
  • Support the CIE team with various project work, including but not limited to the VR Field Trip Program, the Energy in Motion project, the Data to Action project, and other base work
  • Support the CIE team with the management of the department’s social media channels, website and newsletters
  • Work with the Administrator to manage VR headsets, including system updates, tracking, maintenance, etc
  • Attend events to promote CIE tools and resources
  • Other duties as required
What you need to succeed:
  • Certificate or (or working towards) diploma in Business, Communications, or other related field is required
  • 1 year+ work experience as an administrative assistant or similar
  • Knowledge of the energy industry is an asset
  • Experience in policy, procedure or formal report writing is an asset
  • Experience in research or project management
  • Microsoft Office training
  • Website building or revision experience is an asset
  • SharePoint experience is an asset
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Experience creating and designing content for social media and websites
  • Ability to act with independence and exercise sound judgment
  • Demonstrated sensitivity, tact, as well as initiative
  • Critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Team player
  • Exemplary interpersonal skills and exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Well organized and able to handle multiple tasks quickly and accurately
