
Electronics Technologist

- Troubleshoot and repair all the Assembling Equipment in a timely manner using sound knowledge and understanding of Ethernet communication, Control Logic and Programmable Logic Control (PLC Omron & Allen Bradley)
- Repair and maintain robotic devices and computer-controlled systems.
- Check on meters and gauges to ensure that the machines work well.
- Troubleshoot assembling systems, investigate the machine/system failures and perform repairs using skills in the areas of pneumatic power, manufacturing processes, electricity, electronics, and mechanical systems
- Based on their knowledge in the areas of electronics, mechanics, and computers should be able to investigate the machine/ system failure and perform repairs in a timely manner
- Ensure the safety standards are effective and followed all the time
- Respond to all emergency troubleshooting on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic equipment to determine problems associated with the machines
- Perform monthly EPV Audits and perform EPV corrections, where required
- Maintain smooth communication with different levels of departments and peers
- Provide technical assistance and support regarding all projects, installations, and repairs
- Conduct investigations; recommend changes and upgrades to equipment
- Upgrade hardware and software for improved process control
- Communicate findings, upgrades, and troubleshooting to colleagues and management through the e-mail, texts, and voice calls
- Ensure the calibration of all machines and maintenance after calibration
- Provide regular system operation training on automated systems
- Assist in the specification, installation, and modifications of the systems
- Community College Diploma in Engineering Technology;
- Three to five years experience in machine controls and PLC programming
- Automation experience is required
- Proven project management skills (if no full-time work experience)
- Work experience with CADKey and PLC programming
- Proven experience with Robotic troubleshooting and programming.
- Able to design control circuits and generate electrical schematics
- Demonstrated understanding of engineering theories and principles
- Strong presentation, oratory, and verbal skills
- Able to communicate ideas and recommendations to non-engineer team members in a clear manner
- Demonstrated knowledge of Canadian electrical standards
- Work experience with pneumatic/ hydraulic controls, sensors and electrical hardware, and control wiring circuitry.
- Demonstrated knowledge of required code for operation’s geographical area
- Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills
- Able to apply right mathematical methods and formulas to problem solving
- Able to create alternative solutions to problems
