To perform investigations, surveys and analysis related to programs and projects of the City's facilities, infrastructure and moveable assets.Major Responsiblities:
- Investigates, researches and conducts studies.
- Collects and analyzes data and prepares reports.
- Under direction of the Engineering Technologist Technician 1, responds to complaints and inquiries related to construction activity on by-law interpretation, location of property lines, encroachments, digital CADD and processes.
- Prepares sketches, technical designs and elevations. Reads and interprets technical drawings.
- Transforms information from plans into digital data. Maintains and updates data.
- Performs and/or reviews research and calculations and analyzes technical data.
- Conduct Title Searches to assist in depositing plans into Land Registry in support of the Capital Delivery program
- Prepare Street Naming, renaming Reports and acquire the necessary information to support the Reports as required submission to Community Council.
- Prepares, reads and interpret technical drawings.
- Collects, maintains and analyzes data and prepares reports making recommendations.
- Responds to complaints and inquiries
Your application must describe your qualifications as they relate to: * Experience interpreting and reading legal survey plans and various types of registered/unregistered legal documents.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel and Access).
- Experience in preparing reports to communicate effectively to various stakeholders such as Colleagues, members of the public and Councillors.
- Post-secondary education in Surveying or Civil Engineering Technology or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of maintaining property records information within an automated environment.
- Knowledge of undertaking title searches/retrieving information within the Land Registry Office system.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of all relevant Occupational Health and Safety Act regulations, statutes, standards and practices.
- Ability to work effectively with consultants, contractors, ward councillors, colleagues and other City employees at all levels and members of the public.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, at all organizational levels.
- Ability to plan, prioritize and organize and work with minimal supervision.
- Problem solving, project co-ordination skills and the ability to exercise independent judgement in dealing with technical matter.
