In aerospace, transportation, defence, security and space, our architects design innovative solutions that make our tomorrow's possible.This is for a hybrid role in Halifax, NS.Position SummaryThe Maintenance Scheduler provides work package and scheduling support the Ship Maintenance Lead and the Service Delivery Team in planning and organizing all required routines while developing an integrated schedule for multiple Work Periods. The Maintenance Scheduler manages the preparation, monitoring, and maintenance of Work Period work lists and schedules. They Coordinate and communicate with suppliers and water front service team and provide an accurate and executable schedule to minimize conflict between task.The Maintenance Scheduler will ensure accurate and timely reports are produced as required along with updating real-time dashboards and communicating schedule changes across the enterprise. Implement data-driven approaches to analyze maintenance performance, identify trends that could improve the efficiency of a work period. Additional tasks will include but not limited to; Raising Purchases Requisitions on behalf of the SML, collecting and organizing Objective Quality Evidence, and assisting Maintenance Coordinators with Work Pack Management.Key Areas of Responsibility
Provision of general project support and administration activities to the Waterfront Service Delivery Team;
Prepare reports and updates on the schedule progression and adherence
Strong computer literacy, with proven experience with Microsoft products especially Word, Excel, SharePoint and PowerPoint;
Experience and Knowledge with an ERP or EAM (SAP and Maximo Preferred)
Strong organizational skills and ability to balance multiple priorities;
Excellent communications skills including the ability to prepare and present reports to a range of audiences;
College Graduate with trade experience or postgraduate qualifications or trainings in the area of Business, Project Management, or Engineering
Exposure to Scheduling Tools (Microsoft Project and Primavera P6 preferred);
Experience in the Defence industry or marine industry as it relates to shipbuilding, ship repair, or ship maintenance
Basic Qualifications
Minimum 2-year technical program diploma offered by a recognized technical institute or University Degree or certified as a technician by a recognized provincial licensing body in a relevant field marine field or relevant RCN training;
Strong computer literacy, with proven experience with Microsoft products especially Word, Excel, SharePoint and PowerPoint;
Experience and Knowledge with an ERP or EAM (SAP and Maximo Preferred)
Experience within procurement, project management or operations is highly desirable
Project experience interfacing between internal/external stakeholders
Strong organizational skills and ability to balance multiple priorities;
Excellent communications skills including the ability to prepare and present reports to a range of audiences;
Minimum two years experiences scheduling and/or planning projects
Minimum two years of previous experience working within military or Marine industry as it relates to Shipbuilding, ship repair, or ship maintenance desirable,
College Graduate with trade experience or postgraduate qualifications or trainings in the area of Business, Project Management, or Engineering
Competent with the use of Scheduling Tools (Microsoft Project and Primavera P6 preferred);
Experience working in SAP is advantageous.
Preferred Qualifications
Tertiary education in an Engineering, Technical, or Business/Project Management related field is desirable.
Physical Demands
Predominantly working onsite in the Naval Dockyard and onboard Naval Vessels, will also be required to work from the office or from home.
