- Participate in all projects proposal development where commissioning is part of the scope of work to provide proposal write-up, manpower estimation, etc.
- Build relationships with clients across the ECA region, showcase commissioning capabilities and build portfolio of work
- Identify internal resources with good potential for commissioning responsibilities, ensure training and mentoring and promote site experience to design engineers
- Provide technical support and governance to projects across the ECA region to ensure commissioning is being done per Hatch' standards
- Manage workload and chargeability for Commissioning in the ECA region
- Implement proper HSE culture through the various stages of commissioning execution to the handover of facilities
- Responsible for the overall Commissioning Team in the ECA region and to oversee the recruitment, mobilization, training, supervision and de-mobilization of personnel
- Personally gets involved in projects (all stages of FEL and execution) at the planning phase on a part time basis to make sure estimates and strategies are adequate. Involvements can go from directly managing/executing the work for a specific project to conducting regular reviews to provide guidance when required
- When the situation requires, may have to step-in Commissioning Manager roles from time to time and help with project executions, site audits, support to existing teams, etc.
- The position requires substantial management, influence and communications skills. The incumbent must have knowledge, skills and ability to manage a diverse group of technical, project and operating personnel.
- The position requires a Professional Engineer or an individual with significant technical experience having a strong technical background in commissioning of at least one industry (mining, mineral processing, hydrometallurgy, oil & gas, etc.) and good knowledge of project completion management. The following are considered essential requirements:
- Demonstrated health and safety management focus in the commissioning phase of project delivery, and extensive knowledge of health and safety management procedures, safe work practices, an applicable legislation
- Engineering degree or equivalent
- Minimum ten to twenty years of previous commissioning management experience
- Strong leadership and communication skills and the ability to lead a team and fit into a team environment
- Previous experience leading commissioning on multiple major EPCM Projects, ideally Mega Project(s)
- Extensive knowledge of all phases of commissioning operations relating to field activities of all engineering disciplines, commissioning and maintenance practices, procedures and techniques, and applicable codes and standards
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, organizational charts and work flow processes is an asset
- Able to communicate directly with Clients on key issues
- Experience with CCMS (Completions and Commissioning Management Systems) is a must
- Clear thinker, able to divide a job into small logical steps
- Familiarity with a wide range of equipment, tools, and technologies used in commissioning
- Familiarity with a wide range of testing procedures, methodologies, technologies and standards used in commissioning
- Excellent written French and English (meetings with clients will be held in both languages)
- Extensive experience in the use of procedures and workflow in the execution of projects;
- Good understanding of interdisciplinary dependencies in a project environment.

- Well-developed business and management principles related to strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership and coordination of people and resources
