- Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment. You will ensure that automated food production equipment is ready for operation at the start of each shift. You will install, maintain, rebuild, troubleshoot, and repair machines such as blenders, fillers, form-fill-seal machines, carton formers and closers, inkjet printers, robotics, and other packaging and processing systems.
- Stay on schedule. You will complete preventive maintenance tasks, including regular inspections of all electrical, mechanical, and production equipment in your area of responsibility.
- Collaborate. You will coordinate with the Maintenance Coordinator to order spare and replacement parts and liaise with outside contractors as needed. You will also work closely with production and quality teams to assess machinery performance and support continuous improvement.
- Keep records. You will document all maintenance and repair work and report equipment defects or damages to the Maintenance Supervisor or Team Lead, escalating as appropriate.
- Take ownership. You will manage your time effectively, maintain accountability for personal tools, and uphold safety, quality, and industry standards in a food manufacturing environment.
- The experience. You have a high school diploma or equivalent. You have experience as a maintenance worker, preferably in food manufacturing or flexible packaging with plastics.
- The technical skills. You possess the mechanical knowledge and skills to set up and maintain equipment in a manufacturing and packaging facility, including packaging equipment such as carton box formers, box sealers, case packagers, case coders, labellers, and ideally form-fill-seal or flexible packaging machines. You can use a computer and a handheld device. You can easily come up to speed on how to safely start, operate, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment. You are proficient in addition, subtraction and fractions. Understands temperature and weight measures.
