SGRE is currently seeking a highly talented and motivated candidate for a Wind Technician position near Pincher Creek Alberta. The ideal candidate can work a flexible schedule, along with the ability to analyze and resolve problems independently and efficiently. S/he will provide excellent service to our customer, can work on complex systems in challenging environments, and participate in the development of new field procedures and best practices. The candidate, with an already active partner, will be responsible for the site operations of twenty SGRE 2.3MW platform type.Relocation will not be offered for this role.Responsibilities:Performs mainly pre-defined, technical tasks (for example, basic commissioning of products and systems, integration of components to a system, basic engineering, maintenance jobs) and work packages on-site and remotely.Supports customer remotely and onsite, and provides 2nd and 3rd level user support in case of arising issues.Coordinates and accomplishes defined service operations and/or resolves product issues for customers equipment.Supports in generating sales leads for pre-defined service offers and contributes to planning activities.Adheres to defined processes and applicable regulations.Provide excellent service to our customers, analyze, and react to people in stressful hazardous situationsParticipate in the development of new improved field procedures and best practicesThe working environment entails working inside the wind turbine enclosure at an elevated height of 300 feetAbility to think clearly and maintain composure during stressful and or hazardous situations is a critical ability to working in confined spacesExtensive training and testing will be provided covering safety and technical job requirementsPhysical requirements of the job include but not limited to: Ladder climbing minimum 267 steps, up stair climbing, standing for long periods, walking, lifting, bending, twisting, work above shoulders, pushing, pulling, exposure to vibration, chemicals, confined spaces, and extreme weather conditionsAble to expand technical abilityCapable of efficiently taking on additional roles and responsibilities at an operating wind farmPerforms mainly pre-defined, technical tasks (for example, basic commissioning of products and systems, integration of components to a system, basic engineering, maintenance jobs) and work packages on-site and remotely.Supports customers remotely and onsite and provide 2nd and 3rd level user support in case of arising issues.Coordinates and accomplishes defined service operations and/or resolves product issues for customers equipment.Supports in generating sales leads for pre-defined service offers and contributes to planning activities.Adheres to defined processes and applicable regulations.Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and ExperienceTurbine experience, on SGRE 2.3MW Geared Platform is preferredDemonstrated knowledge in electrical systems including such as PLC programming and convertersCollege Diploma or equivalent competency in a field related to the work of a wind farm technician i.e.: electrical / mechanical systemsThe candidate must demonstrate strong initiative and motivation to learn new technology and translate learning into personal successExcellent customer service skills and communication skills are requiredDemonstrated ability to work safely and effectively in a team environmentStrong ability to organize and plan daily/weekly work with a high level of quality orientation, ability to analyze and resolve problems independently with a high level of results orientationGood computer skills, is competent in the use of Microsoft platforms like Outlook and ExcelQualified applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the Canada. Also, travel to customer sites within and outside Canada is a requirement of the job.
