Your Opportunity:The Lethbridge ODP provides treatment for clients diagnosed with a severe opioid use disorder who require intensive treatment through injection of medication up to three times per day. The Addictions Counsellor III (AC) is responsible for assessment of clients wanting addiction counselling, recovery support, psychosocial support and accessing other community services. They work within a multidisciplinary team to provide wrap-around care to clients in the program. The AC provides recovery addictions work in the major program areas of treatment, prevention and community capacity building in the addiction and mental health environment and may include provision of restricted activity aspects of psychosocial intervention within their individual competence and in accordance with legislations and regulations. The AC works independently with a high degree of judgment and works effectively as part of an interprofessional team and commits to strengthening team dynamics by actively facilitating interprofessional collaboration to enhance client health outcomes. This position will work at both Lethbridge Opioid Dependency Clinic and Lethbridge Recovery Centre.Description:As an Addiction Counsellor III, you will provide quality, client focused, recovery based and culturally appropriate assessment, treatment, case management, crisis intervention, education and referral services for clients and their families; as well as community stabilization services. You will develop and implement treatment plans and provide a range of interventions which offer least intrusive and most appropriate services to clients and their families. You will also monitor and evaluate client progress and achievement of recovery goals and adapt treatment as needed. As an Addiction Counsellor III, you will depend on your excellent relationship building skills with clients, families, government staff and colleagues.

Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Addictions or a combination of a bachelor's degree in a related field with course work in addictions. A related degree combined with a diploma related to addictions, or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Individuals eligible for registration under the Health Professions Act (Alberta) must maintain active registration. Individuals may require authorization/permission under regulation to perform restricted psychosocial interventions and/or restricted activities. Additional Required Qualifications:Experience working within a Harm Reduction philosophy of care and Recovery Model. Cultural competency education and training. Trauma informed care. Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge of Lethbridge area resources. Experience working with Connect Care documentation.
