- Participate in or lead instrumentation and controls engineering design as part of a project team.
- Develop control philosophies, instrumentation design bases, system architecture descriptions, and technical specifications
- Support projects through concept, FEED, detailed design, construction, and commissioning phases
- Prepare and review instrument data sheets, specifications, and indexes
- Develop and review I/O lists, loop diagrams, wiring details, and cable schedules
- Review and mark up P&IDs and coordinate closely with Process and Electrical disciplines
- Design and support PLC, DCS, and Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS)
- Develop and review control narratives, logic diagrams, cause & effect matrices, and alarm philosophies
- Support system integration activities with electrical systems, SCADA, and plant networks
- Hands-on programming, configuration, and integration of DCS, PLC, and HMI systems is considered an asset but not a requirement for this role
- Support or participate in FAT, SAT, loop checks, and commissioning activities
- Provide technical support during construction, start-up, and troubleshooting
- Assist with the resolution of deficiencies identified during testing and commissioning
- Interface with clients, vendors, and system integrators on technical matters
- Support proposal development and provide technical input as required
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers (senior-level)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Controls, or related Engineering discipline
- Intermediate: typically 5–10 years of relevant I&C engineering experience
- Senior: typically 10+ years of relevant I&C engineering experience
- Registered as a P.Eng. with APEGA (other provincial or state registrations considered an asset)
- Experience working on EPCM or consulting projects
- Familiarity with control system platforms such as Rockwell Automation, Siemens, Schneider Electric, Emerson, or Honeywell
- Hands-on experience with PLC, DCS, and HMI programming, configuration, and system integration is considered an asset, but is not required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to travel occasionally for site and commissioning support

- Employment Type: Full-time, 40 hours per week.
- Wage: $63.25 - $90.00/hour
- Preference given to Calgary or Edmonton based candidates; would consider remote work for candidates in AB, BC or SK.
