Job DescriptionPlease note that this job posting is intended for you to express your interest in future opportunities within AtkinsRéalis.OverviewAs part of AtkinsRéalis Engineering Services group, the municipal infrastructure team specializes in providing a full range engineering services for infrastructure projects to local, national, and international clients.The municipal infrastructure team is looking for a Municipal and Utility Design Engineer to join our growing team to work on one the most important Canadian airport projects. The position is 100% in-office in Toronto.Your roleProvide subject‑matter expertise in municipal infrastructure design and construction, ensuring compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and client requirements through design reviews, submittal reviews, testing, and Facility Alteration Permit (FAP) assessments.Conduct field inspections and provide non‑resident engineering oversight during construction, monitoring designer inputs such as RFIs, shop drawings, material approvals, mock‑ups, and punch lists.Oversee municipal servicing systems—including water, sanitary, stormwater, gas, roads, bridges, lift stations, and parking structures—offering expert guidance on capacity, demand, and system reliability.Review contractor and designer deliverables, assess alternative technical proposals for feasibility and alignment with client needs, and confirm compliance with all applicable standards.Coordinate technical program elements, set engineering targets/goals, and manage interfaces across engineering and architectural disciplines to ensure integration across facilities and assets.Prepare management‑level progress reports and briefings on design issues and opportunities, and support client debriefs by preparing summaries, attending sessions, and capturing key insights.Coach and mentor project staff while contributing to career development and maintaining high technical and professional standards across the program.About youRecognized degree in civil engineering with municipal engineering concentration. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role.
