- Demonstrate commitment to following all Mine site safety rules, procedures and regulations, while ensuring the safety of others
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mining equipment and ancillary equipment, including light vehicles as required
- Diagnose and repair complex electrical faults on heavy mobile equipment
- Interpret and work from advanced electrical and electronic schematics
- Troubleshoot and maintain electrical-over-hydraulic systems
- Perform electrical testing, fault finding, and system validation
- Maintain and repair wiring harnesses, sensors, solenoids, controllers, and ECU systems
- Work on CANBus systems and electronic control modules
- Collaborate with mechanical and operational teams to resolve recurring issues
- Ensure projects are carried out in a timely, cost efficient and meticulous manner
- Perform preventative maintenance inspections and services in accordance with the maintenance schedule and/or based on operational requirements
- Document reports detailing work performed, problems diagnosed, pre & post checks and all other required shift paperwork
- Maintain and demonstrate a professional and courteous relationship with employees, subcontractors, the client and all other personnel
- Practice good general housekeeping in the work area and equipment
- Understand and comply with all PPE requirements in work areas
- Other duties may be assigned by your Supervisor, as required
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalency
- Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic Certification
- Preferred; 3-5 years of experience working underground as a Heavy-Duty Mechanic
- Proven auto electrical troubleshooting experience in a heavy equipment or mining environment
- Strong understanding of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, manuals and blueprints
- Demonstrated experience with electrical-over-hydraulic systems
- Ability to diagnose faults using diagnostic software and electrical test equipment
- Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License; manual transmission experience required
- Typical equipment; Sandvik jumbo(s), scoop(s) and haul truck(s), Volvo/Cat front end loaders/telehandler & grader. Toyota land cruiser light vehicles.
- Possess general computer skills
- The ability to work both independently and within a team in a fast-paced, rapidly changing, cross-cultural environment with high degree of professionalism and self-motivation is essential
- Proven ability to recognize and follow verbal and written instructions
- Able to effectively prioritize workload to ensure deadlines are met
- Must have good radio etiquette and strong communications skills
- Eagerness to learn and grow
- Ability to do shift camp work on a rotational basis (dayshift/nightshift), typically the rotations are 2 weeks on site (minimum 12-hour days), followed by 2 weeks off - working statutory holidays as they fall within the rotation
- While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to communicate, sit, stand, walk, climb, reach, push/pull, manipulate objects and work in awkward positions
- Duties may involve moving materials weighing up to 50 pounds
- Manual dexterity and good eye-hand coordination are required
