- Lead daily maintenance operations, including preventative maintenance inspections (PMIs) and safety checks
- Diagnose and repair fleet vehicles and equipment, including brakes, engines, suspensions, drivetrains, hydraulics, fuel injection, and electronics
- Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire changes, lubrication, and cleaning
- Remove, overhaul, and reinstall mechanical components with minimal supervision
- Complete accurate work orders and maintain detailed records of maintenance and parts used
- Move vehicles safely between work areas and perform test drives to ensure proper performance
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop that meets Transdev standards
- Identify safety hazards, report major observations, and take corrective action as needed
- Share knowledge with team members to support skills development and operational excellence
- Supervise the work of apprentice technicians, coaching and mentoring them as they develop their skills
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and maintenance standards
- Assist with additional responsibilities or projects as requested
- You’ll keep Yellowknife’s fleet safe, reliable, and ready to serve the community every day,
- You’ll ensure that the community can rely on safe, consistent public transit & school buses.
- You’ll solve complex mechanical challenges that directly affect service delivery
- You’ll support a skilled, high-performing apprentice to build their skills and confidence
- You’ll contribute to operational efficiency and the overall safety culture of Transdev
- You’ll play a key role in
- Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician or Truck and Transport Mechanic certification
- Class 5 driver’s license
- Personal mechanic tool set
- Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills
- Proficiency with computers and digital maintenance systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work assigned shifts, including occasional evenings or weekends
- $55/hour competitive wage

- 40 hours per week, standard Monday–Friday schedule with some flexibility based on operational needs
- $10,000 relocation allowance
- $10,000 sign on bonus
- $10,000 retention bonus upon completion of 12 months service
